How to resize a signature for an online form
Sign your name in black or dark blue ink on plain white paper. Take a photo or scan of it in good light, then upload the image. Choose SSC / Govt. forms or Banking exams (IBPS) for 140×60 px under 20 KB, or Wide signature for 300×100 px. The tool crops the largest centred area with the right shape, resizes it and saves a JPG.
For the 20 KB presets, the file is compressed until it fits under the limit. If an unusual image still comes out above 20 KB at the smallest setting, the tool tells you the final size so you can try a cleaner scan.
Getting a clean signature image
Crop your photo so the signature fills most of the frame before uploading, leaving a small margin around it. The crop is centred and the 140×60 shape is wide, so a signature with lots of empty paper above and below works better than one squeezed into a corner. Use the Zoom slider to make the signature larger if it looks too small.
Even lighting matters. Shadows from your phone or hand turn the white paper grey, which looks messy and makes the file larger. Shoot near a window in daylight, hold the phone parallel to the page, and avoid lined or coloured paper. A thicker pen gives clearer lines at small sizes.
Check the form's exact requirements
Recruitment and exam portals publish their own specifications for signature uploads, including dimensions, file size, file type and sometimes the ink colour. These can change from one notification to the next, so check the current notice for the exam or form you are applying for. Many also require a separate photo of the applicant, which you can create with the Passport Photo Maker or ID Photo Maker.
