ID photo sizes available
Employee ID uses a small 25×30 mm format (295×354 px at 300 DPI), which suits many office badges and access cards. Student ID, Aadhaar / PAN and Driving licence presets use 35×45 mm (413×531 px), the size most commonly requested on Indian forms and many school and university applications.
Organisations set their own rules for ID cards, and government forms can change their specifications. If your employer, college or the issuing office gives specific dimensions or a file size limit, follow those. For forms that cap the file size, the Image Compressor can bring the JPG under the limit afterwards.
How to make an ID card photo
Upload a head-and-shoulders photo taken straight on, in good light. Choose the card type and the preview shows the exact crop with an oval guide for your face. Zoom in until your face fills the oval; the crop stays centred, so start with a photo where your face is in the middle.
Pick white, light grey or light blue to swap a cluttered room for a plain backdrop; choosing a colour switches on AI background replacement automatically. Download a single photo to upload to a portal, or switch to Print sheet for several copies on 6×4 in photo paper, which you can cut out along the light grey lines.
Making an ID photo look professional
ID photos are viewed at a tiny size, so clarity matters more than style. Face the light, avoid strong shadows, keep your expression neutral or a closed-mouth smile if your organisation allows it, and wear clothing that contrasts with the background so your outline stays clear on white.
Badges for the same company look better when everyone uses the same background colour. This tool does not check photos against any official standard; it only produces the size and background you select.
