Why convert SVG to PNG?
SVG is a vector format. It describes shapes mathematically, so it stays sharp at any size and is ideal for logos and icons on websites. But many places don't accept it, including most social networks, office documents, email signatures and some upload forms. PNG is a raster format made of pixels that works almost everywhere and keeps transparency.
What size will the PNG be?
The SVG is drawn at the size set in the file, using its width and height or its viewBox, up to 4096 pixels on the longest side. Very small SVGs, such as 24-pixel icons, and SVGs with no size are drawn at 1024 pixels so the PNG is useful straight away.
To get a different size, change the width and height in the SVG file before converting, or resize the PNG afterwards. Shrinking a PNG stays sharp, but enlarging it later will soften it, so it is better to export at a large size and scale down.
Fonts, images and other limits
For security, external references such as linked images and web fonts loaded from a URL are not fetched. Images embedded inside the SVG as data URIs work. Text is drawn with fonts available on the server, so if your SVG uses a custom font, convert the text to outlines in your design app first for an exact match.
Transparent areas stay transparent in the PNG. Animations and interactive scripts in the SVG are not part of the result.
How to convert SVG to PNG
Upload the SVG file and the PNG appears in the preview right away, with its pixel dimensions shown. There's no quality slider, because PNG is lossless. Download the PNG and use it wherever SVG isn't accepted, and keep the SVG as your master copy for any future sizes.
